Favorite Foto Friday

Thanksgiving 2004

One of my absolute favorite photos of my guys! I can just see the joy, feel the love and hear the laughter when I look at this picture. They were laughing at Daddy - who was pretending to squirt whipped cream in my hair while I took the picture. I guess the thought of Mom having whipped cream in her hair was too funny! This picture makes my heart smile and ache all at the same time. Oh, how I miss Jacob but I am so very THANKFUL for the 6 years he blessed my life on earth. But I am even more thankful for the promise of spending eternity with Jacob in Heaven!

Ending with a scripture . . .

"Everything God created is good, and to be received with thanks."
1 Timothy 4:4
The Message

With a thankful heart,

That picture sure makes me smile too! I love how much you and Donnie seem to laugh and have fun with your kids! They are so blessed to have you as parents as much as you are blessed to have them as your children.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving this year... you know that I will be praying for you and all five of your precious children.

Love and FROG!

I can hear them laughing too. What sweet boys!
Thank you for what you said a while back about those who are now in Heaven not missing anything. They are in a perfect place. That thought has brought me sooo much peace. I found out I was pregnant with my first son a few weeks before my husband's dad died of cancer. For years it broke my heart that he did not get to see his grandson. Your statement has helped me to see that, although we miss him greatly, he is not missing a thing because he is in a place where there is no sadness or loneliness.
Thankyou for your ongoing wisdom

wow, how blessed you are! I read your story for the first time today and I am amazed at your strength. You have such a beautiful family. My husband recently returned from leading a missions trip to Guatemala, he said it was hard not to bring back a baby. Your daughter is gorgeous. God bless you and may you feel Him every single day.

Hi Heather, I love that picture! I remember it from Jacob's website. I love your blog, it is so inspiring, I also love to know about your family, I have a 3.5 yera old a a 9 month old, so I relate a lot with what Allie is doing! I also went into Angel's website, it is just amazing. Thank you for continuing to write, you bless us all with your words. Donnie and yourself are amazing parents and that is what makes your children so amazing as well.

What a precious, priceless picture. Such happiness and pain fills my heart when I see it. I smile with tears filling my eyes. Don't you wish we could peek at where he is now in heaven? I think it would make it a little easier. I am going to pray that God gives you a vision in your heart of where your baby boy is. I know this must be the hardest time of year to have one less in the picture. I have tears just rolling down my cheeks with the pain of it and it makes it hard for me to even comprehend what you feel. I wish I had something miraculous and profoundly helpful to say. Unfortunately I am just me. My prayers and thoughts are with you this holiday season as you rejoice in the addition of your sweet girl and continue to feel the loss of you sweet boy. Much Love to you. Angel

That brings back memories to me also ! Those boys were, and are, always so-o-o-o tickled and were just the medicine for everybody else, and still are, along with the princess, of course.

I meant to say that you and Donnie looked like you were off to the high school prom, absolutely giddy and a knock-out couple.

Tell Allie not to worry, that my dentist told me years ago that the "best" teeth come in the latest . . . I am a grandmother who has had 2 small cavaties in her entire life and I eat enough sweets for your whole house !

Happy weekend ! Hope colds are well . . .

It's fun to hear the background on that picture. It's one of the first pictures that I saw of your family after coming to your site from the Triplet Connection. That, and the cute one of the boys on the playground hippo.

My eyes went to the cookie first (great, huh?) then it went left and finally rested on Jacob...oh that hit my heart so hard. What a special picture this is!
Reading Isaiah today and these words brought such a wonderful picture to my mind...oh for that glorious rest! Still praying!
Isaiah 11:1-2, 10 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD...And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

One of my favorite pictures of all time!!!

By the way, I don't think that I read anywhere in your blog what Brandon's test results are. I presume that everything is okay, but please let us know, if you haven't already.

Happy Thanksgiving.

I miss Jacob too. :( And I never even got to meet him! But I miss seeing new pictures of him and praying for him- but you know what? I only knew of him because he was sick. And if missing him means that he isn't sick anymore, then that makes my heart happy. Such a blessing to know that I will finally meet him one day in heaven. :)

Heather and Family,

I know that you dont know me, however I was emailed a story about a week ago
telling me about an 11 month old, Ethan Powell, who is fighting the war against
Leukemia. I have been looking at several sites since then and have had my eyes
opened to a new light. I must have been a very naive person to think that there
werent that many children who are fighting the war against cancer. WOW is all I
can say. What tough little cookies that they are.

I say all of that to say that I stumbled upon your web site and have been so
amazed and uplifted. I can only say that I truly have no understanding of what
you and your family along with other families have gone through and I can only
hope and pray that I never have to deal with that kind of pain and anguish.

If you would, please add little E to your list of prayers. His website is
www.ethanpowell.com Please check it out and if you have time to send them some
words of encouragement, I am sure that they would gladly accept it at this time. They just found out today that the Chemo that they were giving to Ethan
did not work. Please, please add him to your prayer list and pass his website
along to others.

Thanks for being so inspiring to us on your Faithful Froggers website.

In Christ,

I think cancer is very bad and I know kids die everyday from it. I hope you all rely on GOD to make everyone of your wishes come true. I know Jacob was in alot of pain, but now he's not in any pain at all. I hope you all have a great CHRISTMAS!!!
