Happy 10 months, Baby Girl!
WOW! It is hard to believe that Allie is 10 months old . . . time sure flies by when your children are babies! She has been home with us for 4 months now - yet is feels like she has been with us forever. She was definitely meant to be a part of our family. She is sweet and loving and loves to GO - yet she is fiesty and loud enough to keep up with the boys! :)
It has been so fun to have Allie home for the holidays! I can remember shopping last year and looking at all the little baby girl dresses . . . and praying that our little one would be home for Christmas this year. She is such a gift to our family and we all adore her. The boys have been fantastic big brothers and have adjusted to a new baby in the house beautifully! They think Allie is the best baby in the world and are totally in love with her . . . and she loves them right back. It warms my heart to see their relationship grow and I love watching Allie bring out the sensitive side in all my guys! Allie just lights up when she sees them and needless to say - the boys love that. She also has Daddy wrapped pretty tightly around her little finger. She literally squeals in delight when he gets home from work and takes off crawling as fast as she can to get to him. Allie is so loving and we enjoy every minute of it!
Poor baby girl has been very sick this week, though! She has a terrible cough, cold and has been running a temp of 103! I took her to the doctor today . . . her ears are fine, her chest is clear and her throat looks good - so it seems as if it is just viral! She feels a little better today so hopefully she is on the mend. But Allie is such a trooper - and has hardly fussed at all even though she is sick! She is still eating good (nothing stops this girl from eating!) :0) And she is sleeping great - just seems to be napping a little longer. She blesses us all with her good nature! And as you can see by the pictures below - she is still smiling!
You can tell she isn't feeling well in this picture. One of the boys wrapped her in her blanket and she loved it - she didn't want me to take it off!
Allie loves books and will sit for a good 30 minutes looking through them and she loves to sit on your lap for story time!
This picture just makes me laugh! Here she is SICK - yet so full of JOY! Can you see why she brings such laugh-out-loud happiness into our life?? PURE SUNSHINE!
Of course I am really behind in my Christmas preparations since Allie has been sick this week and I haven't been able to run errands! I'm trying not to panic . . . Christmas is just coming way too fast. :) This weekend will be busy as I try hard to catch up on shopping, wrapping and baking! The good news is that I have caught up on laundry and blogging this week during her long naps.
Thanks so much for all the advice and comments about Blog Safety! Someone asked about how to keep people from right-clicking and taking your pictures . . . and I don't know how either! If anyone knows - please leave a comment! Thanks, too, for taking the time to register with Blogger! And if you asked a question -(and I knew the answer!)- I tried to answer it in the comment section.

Heather - I have followed Jacob's site for about 2 years...and now I follow Faithful Froggers. I originally found Jacob's site through Hannah's site. I work at the same company as Hannah's dad, Mike. With your recent post about blogger safefy, I wanted to take minute to let you know who I was. Your posts are so encouraging and inspirational to me. I have been a long time reader since I first came upon Jacob's site a couple years ago. This is my first comment. But your post about blog safety encouraged me to come out of lurker status. I have a blog too and worry about safety. I couldn't imagine how vulnerable I would feel if I had 3000 visitors a day!
Anyway, you are such an inspiration. It was important for me to continue to visit after Jacob earned his angel wings. One because I have two young children myself and the thought of losing a child is unbearable. But to see you, Donny and the kids move forward each day in such an inspirational way brings me peace. I think another reason I come back to your blog is that you are so grounded and in your belief in God. I wasn't raised in the church and even though deep down I feel like there is a power bigger than our lives here on earth, I struggle with religion and truly believing. If I knew 100% that we meet those we love in another life I would be comforted. But I haven't gotten to that place yet. Your scriptures and unwaivering faith is powerful and encouraging. Thank you.

Happy 10 months, Allie! We got your Christmas card in the mail and it's adorable! We're a little slow this year and might end up sending Valentine's Day cards instead ;) I did get laundry done last night while the boys were at church, some baking today, and the guyss are gingerbread house building here later this evening with friends so we're doing okay.
Blog and Caringbridge safety was(is) always such a concern for me as well. I've gone back and forth on whether or not to continue many times. I use Statcounter (very close to Sitemeter) on our blog, but it doesn't help much for reassurance. I've also tried to use only first names, not share our employers and avoid taking pictures of our house and neighborhood. Regardless, I'm sure someone could find us if they really set out to do so. Scary, huh? If you find out how to keep your pictures from being taken, I would love to know!

Allie is, without a doubt, the happiest and prettiest baby girl on this Earth. She has grown so much - and I don't mean just physically! I have no doubt that her Angel brother, the Amazing Jacob, helped direct her your way.

I am an Atlanta native of more years than I care to admit. While I've never had children of my own, I am the very proud Aunt to 8 nieces and nephews as well as two great-nieces. It is possible to stop right clicking, but I have to say it is a waste of time. People can still take your photos by clicking "print screen" and just pasting the pics into photoshop. It also makes the site hard to use for people who want to use the right click for going back or copying text. Just be careful with the pictures you do post, always check that there is nothing like a street name or school logo in there, plus of course teach your kids about stranger awareness!
