FFF - Spring Has Sprung

Edited to add . . .

I am just loving the new frog header my mom made! I was wanting something different and we had been brainstorming different ideas when she sent me this and I laughed out loud when I saw it! It's just perfect for the month of May!
Many thanks to my mom who is so talented with the graphics!

"The day the Lord created hope was probably the same day he created Spring."
~Bern Williams

Hello friends,

This weeks Favorite Foto Friday theme is

This theme was a little harder for me since we live in Florida . . .
It has felt like Spring here since January and we are already heading straight for the long, hot months of summer.
But when searching for pictures, I noticed that in my spring picture folders I always seemed to have pictures of the boys at the park - climbing trees . . . so those are the pictures I'm sharing today.

Parks & tress . . . just too much fun for BOYS!

What is a Boy?
He's a darling, a treasure, a dreamer, a tease,
A lover of sports and a climber of trees!

Author Unknown

These pictures were from 2002 . . .
Kyle was 3 and the boys were about 21 months.

Jacob

This is at the same park - the following year . . . 2003
Kyle is 4 and the boys are 2.
Kyle, Jacob, Brandon & Devin

This picture always cracks me up!
We had told the boys to say, "CHEESE" and this is what we got . . .
4 very cheesy smiles!

These pictures are from 2005 -
Kyle was 6 and the boys were 4.
Jacob

Kyle, Brandon, Jacob & Devin

Summer of 2006
Kyle is 8 and Brandon & Devin are 6.

2007
Kyle

Devin

2008
Brandon

And Baby Girl isn't quite climbing trees yet . . .
but I suspect it won't be long before her "Bubbas" are teaching her the fine art of tree climbing.
And I have no doubt she'll be keeping up with them every step of the way . . .

Until then, she's perfectly happy posing in front of the bushes -
in another outfit that Nancy (my dad's wife) made. She is so talented.
Nancy's cousin has opened an online baby shop and Nancy is making the tutus for the site.
They have a lot of adorable items for sale. You can visit the site at . . .

Polka Stripe

And another FROG dress that I just love.

But this has to be one of my favorite pictures from the week.
Allie has always loved to point to all the pictures in the house and say who it is -
and she can tell the difference between all of her brothers - including Jacob.
But out of all the pictures in our house, she always picks up Jacob's picture and wants to carry it around.
Whenever she sees it, she says,
"Awwww." And then gives it a kiss.
And she gets quite upset if we try to take the picture away from her.
We have not taught her this . . . she does this completely on her own. And the first time Donnie and I saw her do it -
we both broke down and had a good cry . . .
it was just so sweet, innocent and loving.
Just like Jacob!

Ending with a scripture . . .

"You let me rest in fields of green grass.
You lead me to streams of peaceful water,
and you refresh my life. You are true to your name,
and you lead me along the right paths."

Psalm 23:2-3

I love this scripture. Spring is a time of new beginnings . . . everything is fresh and beautiful. And I am so thankful that God can put the feeling of spring in our hearts - refreshing our life with HOPE, JOY & LOVE.

Feeling refreshed,

Oh I Love the sweet pictures, the memories are priceless! I esp. Love the one of Allie holding sweet Jacob's picture, how sweet and pure. You know, maybe her heart knows Jacob from Heaven is why she is so drawn to him. What a sweet thing to imagine.
I Just Love your family. Have a Wonderful weekend.
Much Love,

Heather,

I have no doubt that Allie knows EXACTLY who Jacob is! I imagine them sitting on a puffy white cloud together, Jacob telling Allie all about her new family and telling her to take good care of all of them. Which she seems to be doing quite well!

Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!

Love all the pics of the boys in the park through the years. The one where they were all so young made me tired just looking at it.

Then, the last pic of Allie and the story got me right in the gut. I believe she has seen him before. What a beautiful site.

You are so blessed with a beautiful family! What happened to your son? Was it Jacob? I'm so sorry to hear that. He was a young boy. He is in the arms of Jesus now! Your children are all so gorgeous!

I just saw Jacob's story. I'm off to go read it.

I never tire of seeing pics of the Duckworth boys, they are so darn cute (and photogenic!). You are such a great photographer, Heather! Love the tree pics and can't wait to see pictures of Allie shimmying up some branches as well.

As I read about Allie carrying around Jacob's picture, I couldn't help but think, well of course she recognizes him, he's the angel she met in heaven who told her all about the great family she would grow up in! So sweet!!!

Happy Spring,

Cute pictures! I enjoy pictures of the boys when they were younger.
Allie is so precious. It's hard to believe how much she has grown!
Give her a couple of years and I'm sure she'll be climbing trees. She is surrounded by boys, I'm sure they are going to teach her lots of things! Love her outfits. I visited Polka Stripe, what cute clothes. I wish I was as talented.
Have a great weekend.

Allie must remember Jacob from when she met him in Heaven! That is probably the most precious picture ever! My favorite, too! You have made spring even more beautiful than it already is, and I thought that was impossible! :)

Just goes to show things can always get better! Thank you, Heather!

Love and FROG!

Love the new header! But then I've always loved froggies anyway.
Know that I'm praying so at this end!
Revelation 7:16-17 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

LOVE the new header! It's awesome - Fancy Frogs material is my FAVE - I did Annie's nursery in that cute fabric! Your children are gorgeous and I think spring makes even more so!

Milk Mama said...

HI Thanks for dropping by my blog. I had to basically "glue" Anna's bow to her head lol. :D I think I read somewhere that fair skinned children are usually balder at birth and children who are African American, Asian, Latin American, etc. are born with more hair. I just want more hair lol. I can't wait for bows. Once she gets enough hair for clips and ponies, I'm going crazy with clips! Do you make your own bows for your Baby Girl?

What a neat header! I'm too new to blogging to handle that type of creativity! But I did follow in your steps and make a video montage for my son's b-day!

I'm drawn to your blog daily and pray for your family! I see cardinals all of the time and they make me smile!

Happy Spring!

Great pictures as usual!

On another note, your page looks adorable! I have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out how to change my blog layout by myself. If you have any tips or pointers I would LOVE to hear from you!! I have been experimenting with digital scrapbooking but I don't know how to upload the page to my blog. My email address is on my blog if you can help me.

Take care and enjoy your weekend!!
