Sarah hosts FFF and has been trying out different "themes." I totally missed last weeks theme since I posted so early - but this week I was excited to see that the theme is "Messy Faces." I knew exactly what pictures to post because my absolute favorite "Messy Face" picture is of Jacob. He was 2 years old and eating pudding and I just love this sweet face . . . messy and all!

Donnie and I attended the Breakfast of Hope yesterday which is a fundraiser for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. It is always such an emotional and inspirational morning and my heart breaks time and time again when I hear the stories of these beautiful children fighting cancer. I will never forget what Jacob had to go through. I will never forget the sweet faces of so many friends we have lost - those faces haunt me everyday. I will never forget the many friends we still have today fighting with all that they have. I will never forget the fear, the disappointment, the tears, the pain, the devastation, the screams, the sadness, the unfairness of it all. But along with all of that - I will also never forget the HOPE that always lived in my heart and I continue to HOPE for healing and a cure for all of our friends! HOPE is a powerful word - and something we can't live without! One of the speakers yesterday said that HOPE begins with YOU and ME! It is up to us to get involved and raise awareness and raise money for childhood cancer research. We must continue to give the gift of HOPE to all these precious, amazing children who are called to fight the biggest battle of their lives!! I HOPE these children and stories touch your heart and encourage you to get involved, too. I want to share a video that was shown yesterday at the breakfast. This video is amazing and was done by my good friend, Anissa, whose daughter, Peyton, is fighting leukemia. I encourage you all to watch this powerful video and say a prayer for every child with cancer. All of the children in the video are from the Tampa Bay area . . . way too many!!

Allie -
begging for a bite of food from her brothers while they are having a snack after school!

This is Allie's "I Don't Know" pose. I love when she does this!
I had asked her where Daddy is - and she didn't know - so she raises one arm up.

The next pictures were taken in the dress that Donnie's grandmother made for Allie.
It is adorable - very lacy and old-fashioned.

And this has to be my favorite from the week!
She was laughing at her brothers and just has a look of
PURE JOY
on her face!
Ending with a scripture and a short devotional . . .
"And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you."
Psalm 39:7
"God is the author of all HOPE and he will never leave your side as you walk through the dark, confusing, lonely and painful places in your life. He will replace your clouds of despair with the brilliant, penetrating light of his everlasting love. He will fill your heart with peace and your mind with wisdom and understanding."

Never losing HOPE,

LOVE LOVE LOVE that Jacob's messy face is gracing this week's FFF! What an adorable little pudding boy! Such joy that boy exuded!! I think Allie's joy echo's her big brother's... your HOPE allows such joy and happiness to fill your and your family's life!
Heather, I just love the messy face picture of Jacob! I have a similar one of my youngest when he was about 18 months and it's one of my favorites!!!. Chocolate pudding makes for really great messy pictures.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Continuing to hope and pray for all the children and families affected by this terrible disease.
Jacob looks like he really loved that pudding!! What a cutie!
Just when I think that Allie can't get any cuter, you post more pictures. That dress is just beautiful. Your family has talent.
Guess I missed the themes too....have to try next week.
I read your blog all the time and have never posted. You are such an inspiration and I truly admire you.
What a cheeky smile in those pics, he looks like he was really enjoying that pudding!
Heather,
As usual your words are wise and bring tears to my eyes.
Peace and Hugs,

Loved the pictures of Jaoob. Watched the video (which was beautiful) and was in tears when I saw the pitures of Taylor and Jacob. They are beautiful angels!
I don't think that Allie can get any cuter. She is the most beautiful baby. Any teeth yet?
Sending love and hugs,

Allie's "I don't know" is too cute!!!!!! Aw, and sweet little Jacob with his messy face. I hope there's lots of pudding for him where he is now.
Thank you so much for sharing this post and the video. In prayer for these families and children.
I got the biggest smile on my face when I saw that it was Jacob with the messy face. That face can light up anything or anybody
Such radiance!
Love and Hugs...
Heather,
Thanks for the comment about my kids. I read your blog daile and followed Jacob's story on caringbridge as well. Thanks for letting me join in the fun FFF. I love pictures.
I love the picture of Jacob with the pudding, what a cutie! Thanks for sharing him, and your entire family with all of us.What and inspiration you are.
It's been awhile since I've had time to make the blog rounds and its so nice to catch up with your family. I love the photo of Grandma surrounded by all those smiling faces.
Well I can hardly tell you of the JOY I feel when I look at your page. Honestly, when I am troubled with worry (as I am tonight) I tend to waste time online just to get my mind off of what's worrying me. Without fail, however, I always make sure to look at your page, and it has never once failed to bring me peace and joy and smiles. Thank you. What a beautiful and loving family you are. I can feel the joy of the Lord coming from your heart right into mine some days. When I see you smiling and writing with such peace, I just know that my cares are so little by comparison. I see in you some qualities that I so wish that I had. Something I really admire about you is when you wrote the comment that you could easily have 12 children. Oh my gosh, I would worry myself into a pile of dust! I have 3 -- and they have all had an awful bug this week. Something about these tummy blues makes me feel completely unnerved and ill-prepared to be anyone's mother. I pray and pray and pray and worry myself into a non-functioning shell. And then I come here. And I see you and your Donnie. Smiling. At peace somehow. And your adorable children. And how then can I keep from feeling joy? Thank you so much -- for your devotionals that are always on target, for remaining positive even in the most dire of circumstances, for your example of what faith in the Lord really is, and for taking the time and energy from your busy days to share your family with us strangers and to inspire so many of us with your example. Thank you! Always praying for you guys, each and every day.
Can't tell you enough how much I LOVE that messy face!!! I am hanging on to HOPE right alongside you! I think I need to start a blog so I can do Favorite Foto Fridays with you and Sarah. It is too much fun! Have a blessed weekend, or what's left of it. (I worked yesterday, testing applicants.) Of course, if I know you Duckworths, the weekend has been a blast already!
Love and FROG,
Shaun
Continuing to pray!
Psalms 46:1-5 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
