FFF - The Eyes Have It!

Hello friends,

The theme for this Favorite Foto Friday is "The Eyes Have It." This is an easy one for me because I just love the eyes of all 5 of my children. Each set so different - yet so beautiful. And it is so amazing how I can look in the eyes of my children and tell so much about how they are feeling. Some days their eyes are twinkling with mischief. Some days they are filled with worry. Some days they are sparkling with joy. Some days they are downcast with guilt. Some days they overflow with tears from sadness, pain or anger. But always the eyes of my children are shining bright with love and are so beautiful they take my breath away.

Of course the hardest part of Favorite Foto Friday for me is picking just one photo! :) You all should know by now that I just can't do it! I have so many favorites.

The boys all have such beautiful blue eyes. Unfortunately they don't get it from me - my eyes are green! They get their blue eyes from their daddy and I just love all my blue-eyed men!
Kyle

Brandon
Devin

And well I just love the brown eyes of our princess!
Allie

And how I miss the beautiful blue eyes of my Jacob! Truly his eyes were mesmerizing and told such a story. They were wise beyond their years, yet always had a light and sparkle to them - even when he was sick.

"Those eyes, soft and capricious as a cloudless sky, whose azure depth their color emulates, must needs be conversant with upward looks--prayer's voiceless service."
William Wordsworth

"Eyes so transparent, that through them one sees the soul."

- Pierre Jules Theophile Gautier

"Eyes bright, with many tears, behind them."
Thomas Carlyle

"Those true eyes too pure and too honest in aught to disguise the sweet soul shining through them”

Owen Meredith

While doing this update, I can't help but to think of the song, Open the Eyes of My Heart. Jacob used to sing this song all the time and I can still hear his sweet voice. I realize now that through his sweet voice - the eyes of my heart were opened drawing me into a closer relationship with Jesus. And I'm sure Jacob's sweet voice is still singing in Heaven and his eyes are shining bright with the light of God! How I look forward to seeing those amazing baby blues again and how I am so thankful that Jacob helped to open my eyes!
Ending with two scriptures today . . .

"I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you."
Ephesians 1:18
"Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions."
Psalm 118:19

Opening my eyes,

**********************************
And a few extra pictures of Allie taken this week!
Caught in her brother's room - AGAIN! :)

Baby Girl can not laugh without making this face.
Makes me smile everytime I see it!

In her new car from Grandmom!

And there's that laugh again! :0)

I think I have told you before that my very favorite picture of Jacob is the first one you posted. That picture takes my breath away every time I see it. And the one in the pool made me so homesick for Jacob. Even though I have never met you guys, by reading Jacob's Caringbridge site for so long makes me feel like I do.

The rest of the pictures were awesome as well, but there is just something about Jacob..........

Susan

Oh your boys are growing up so fast getting their adult teeth, they are all so handsome.

Even just looking at the pictures you can't help but smile and laugh seeing that face when Allie is laughing. I can't imagine hearing it too. Are you ever able to get angry with her without busting out laughing? And her little outfit are just so cute. She looks like just a radiant bundle of joy.

Seeing the photos of Jacob are so wonderful. His eyes do say everything and are just beautiful. What a precious face. I hope that all of us that have come to know and love him through you will also get to see those baby-blues one day.

Your kids just melt my heart and I check many times a day for updates and new photos or to just get a day brightener from past posts. Thank you again so much for sharing your family with us.

God bless,
Dawn from Minnesota

Jacob's eyes were magnificent. That was the first thing I thought when I found your site. He was such a beautiful boy.
My little man (21 months) goes into his big sister's (12) room ALL the time too. He gets that same look on his face when I catch him. It is so funny that I laugh every time. I don't think I'm teaching him not to do it by my reaction. :)

Your guys' eyes remind me so much of my boys, except ours are all brown. They're so much alike but yet each so very different at the same time.

It's always so refreshing to see your pictures with all the green grass and sunshine. Mike has the 3 older boys out playing baseball right now, with mounds of snow as their bases. I can't wait for my flowers and grass to come back! :)

Oh, my gosh, look at that princess-mobile ! Jacob must roll those beautiful eyes watching over Allie all day, what a little ham ! I just can't imagine being that ecstatic all the time, but I'd like to try it.

Hope your week end is as sunny and fun as the princess plans . . .

Sandy

Your children DO have beautiful eyes! They are so expressive and tell so much.

Have a fun baseball season and enjoy the chasing! It ends all too soon, as I'm sure you know.

Have a great weekend.

Oh Heather... I think it is your boys eyes that kept me coming back to your CB page years ago... your boys blue eyes are just captivating! And, that picture of Jacob laying on the couch when you just knew he wasn't feeling well is my favorite of him of all time... you have an amazing gift of capturing the love, mischief and sparkle in all your children's eyes!

Sophie loved seeing Allie in her pink car... she is asking to sit in my lap now to look at more. I look forward to the day when we can get our two girls together and be able to stand back and God's miracles working in our lives and chat in person.

Your photography is always amazing! What camera do you use?

Your children have beautiful eyes! Your boys look like a lot of fun. Mesmerizing is exactly the word I would pick for Jacob's eyes. Allie is a doll!

Love Allie's laughing face. Made me chuckle too!! Her eyes are a beautiful brown.

Your boys all have beautiful eyes, but Jacob's always caught my attention. They were so blue, almost like the ocean. They definitely always had a sparkle.

As always, great pics.

I remember that picture of Jacob laying on his hands looking off. It's one of my favorites next to the one where he is looking off at a sunset and it's a profile shot. Oh he is so beautiful. All your children are just gorgeous and have wonderful eyes. These photos are great!

That first pic of Jacob has always been my favorite. The second one made me laugh...the rest...made my heart ache all over again.
Stopping by to let you know I'm here praying!
Psalms 62:5-8 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Heather,
So much happens with you if I don't check in frequently. I loved your last post on baseball. We spent a lot of years doing the very same thing! My son is 17 now and we have great memories, our lives were lived at the ball fields!

These pictures of your kids are so adorable! The boys eyes are soooo blue! How fun to look into those every day. And that baby Allie, well, she is just a bundle of beautiful fun!

Have a very Happy Saturday!

Kelley

Hi Heather,

I got your sweet message on my blog :O) Thank you!

I had to comment today because the pic of Jacob laying down in the blue shirt. Right before you originally posted that pic on your Caringbridge site is when I started reading. I was hooked to your site when I saw that picture! I even left you a comment way back then because he reminded me so much of my now 7 year old son in that picture. And it was the eyes! That picture is what got me back to praying and FROG. That picture still puts a smile on my face:O)

Thanks for sharing,

Tracie

I love these pictures!!! I have always thought of how gorgeous your children's eyes are and how BLUE! And, of course, Baby Allie has the prettiest brown eyes. I love the shape of her eyes too. When looking at Jacob, that is the one thing that always stood out...his beautiful blue eyes. I remember so well the day he passed and just staring into those eyes of his and crying so hard. I wanted his eyes to shine on forever, but that is the beauty of God and His promise because Jacob's eyes are shining brightly in heaven and he is will be forever looking down on all of you. And, someday, you will see those beautiful blue eyes again....what a wonderful day that will be!

I have been praying hard for Emily. I spent a couple of hours reading her site and learning about her illness and what she has been through. What a brave and courageous young woman. She is a beautiful girl and I pray she gets through this tough period in her life and conquers the cancer once and for all. I will continue to pray for her and hope for the best.

Love and FROG,
Kelly

Heather,

Thanks for leaving that sweet message on my blog! Trust me, if I lived closer, you wouldn't have to drag me anywhere - I'd be at every single function without you even asking! As a matter of fact, I came very close to jumping on a plane a couple of weeks ago so I could go to the "Fashion Funds a Cure" event. I would have LOVED to have been there! I am a retired flight attendant and part of my retirement package was lifetime flight benefits. Don't be surprised if you find me on your doorstep one day!

Have a great week!
Love,
Jennifer

You're in my thoughts and prayers!
Isaiah 43:1-3a But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour...

It breaks my heart for you every time I think about how you miss him. I cried again sitting here reading this new post. I'm just so thankful we have Jesus and heaven and we will see our loved ones again.
