Christmas Eve was so much fun - despite the fact that everyone had a nasty cold! The kids were so excited and it just made the day magical. Oh, how I wish I could just stop time and enjoy this time with them even longer! We ate dinner at my mom's house and then came home to get ready for Santa. It was a long night for Santa . . . he worked hard till 5am - and wasn't sure he would finish in time! Thankfully the kids slept in till 8am! Can you believe that??? Needless to say, Santa was glad to get a little bit of sleep! ;)

We had our first-ever "Happy Birthday, Jesus" Party and watched the Nativity story after dinner.

But they were WILD and SILLY with excitement.
I love these next 2 pictures! Allie has started taking a few steps at a time. She is by no means walking yet - as she typically ends up falling! But she sure is trying hard to walk and keep up with her brothers. Here she is taking a step . . . you can tell that she is just so proud of herself when she does it!

ahhh my dose of DUCKWORTH photos!!! Loved them, I like following Allie's milestones, my Bree, is a month younger than Allie and is standing alone, she hasn't quite mastered the "walking" yet! The look of pride on her face is PRICELESS!! I laughed outloud because this is the SAME FACE Allie exhibited on her pics!!! Loved the pic of the kids laying on the floor as well as the HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS PARTY!! I love that tradition!!!

Dear Heather and family,
I've been following your story for a long time but have always been shy on leaving comments until now. I want to share a story with you that is very near my heart. This past Saturday I lost my grandmother after a year long fight with congestive heart failure. I was lucky enough to be with her and my mother when she past. A few hours before she past I was sitting in her room at the hospice and sitting out on the tree where three cardinals. Now I need to tell you that cardinals where her most treasured bird and she loved the color red. I thought of your family in that moment and how you take comfort in seeing those birds. I will always smile when I see them. Where are burying her on Thursday and the family is al wearing red in her honor. We are Frogging right now and taking things step by step. Thanks for letting me share this with you. You family gives me so much strength and I have found a greater relationship with God by following your family. Thank you so much.
I love all of the new pictures and hearing about your Christmas. I think the piture of Allie sleeping on her Daddy was just precious...And before long, little Miss Allie is going to take off running. Life will not be the same. :)

Am sharing two verses today. The second verse is God's own interpretation of the first verse. When dealing with all the "floods" and vehement winds beating upon us, there is only One Sure Foundation. Praying so as you face these "floods."
Luke 6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

I LOVE the picture of Allie in the kitchen. My 18-mo. old squeals with delight if someone leaves the gate open on the stairs. You've never seen a little on climb so fast! Your family is sooo beautiful. I am so glad you are able to still see the beauty of the Christmas season.
