Hello friends,
I just want to invite you all to come to Fashion Funds the Cure this Tuesday night. (Click the link to see pictures & video from last year's event!) This is my absolute favorite fundraising event for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. The models for the Fashion Show are ALL girls that have cancer. They get to enjoy a day of pampering where they get their hair, nails and make-up done and then they get to pick a beautiful outfit from Saks 5th Avenue to wear in the show. The girls range in age from 4-22 and have all been affected by cancer. It is such a moving, inspirational night to see these girls walk down the runway - escorted by a local celebrity. They are the faces of COURAGE. They are the faces of GRACE. They are the faces of HOPE. They are the faces of CHILDHOOD CANCER.
I left this event last year completely humbled by the strength and determination and beauty of these young girls. They are all so amazing and so deserving of a night where they truly shine.
If you live in the area - I hope you can come and support these beautiful girls. It is a very special, fun night! You leave this event inspired to do more to help these children who are so bravely fighting for their lives. And if you can't make it, you can still help by MAKING A DONATION TO PCF and saying a prayer for ALL children who have cancer. They need our help . . . every dollar counts and helps save a life!
Ending with a scripture . . .
"Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone . . ."
Galatians 6:10

Oh, if I lived anywhere near the area I would be there. But, I am sure you will share pics with those of us who can't make it.
Hope it is successful.
Hey Heather... it is Jake's Aunt MO. So glad to check in on your family. Arent' those baby girls just something? Todd and I have had an opportunity literally fall in our laps to adopt another this fall. We will just see what comes of it. We are open! The boys look so dang "tweenagish". They must be tall dudes! Only Devin looks like he may be the smallest. Is that the case? I am only going by the pics to the left of your blog. OH, well, just coming by to say hi. Hope all is well. I still think of your angel when I see cardinal! Melanie
Oh how well I remember this beautiful fundraiser!!!I remember vividly angel ^Taylor A^ modeling, as well as other beautiful and courageous young ladies. I wish the fundraiser was closer to me, I would LOVE TO ATTEND! I will definitely be making a donation to this wonderful cause! Thanks for passing along the information! I hope your family had a wonderful time this weekend, OF COURSE, I'm waiting for all the BEAUTIFUL PICTURES!!!
Am here praying right now!
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Heather,
What a great event!!! I hope things go great tomorrow and that you guys raise a TON of money! I don't want any other families to have to go through what yours and ours (and way to many others) have gone through.
I'm not sure if you read about the Elf program that we did at Catie's hospital last Christmas, but we are looking to expand it to other hospitals this year. I would love to bring it to Jacob's. What do you think? I would e-mail you the info sheet, but I can't find your e-mail. I'll include mine below and if it's something you think would work there or you want more information, shoot me an e-mail. There is an entry on our blog (couple of entries down) on it as well if you want more info.
Hope it was ok to post this here.
Hope everyone in your house is over the flu and that Allie avoided it!!!
Hugs,
Jenny
Catie and Izzy's mom
Heather, I really do NOT know how you do it. I admire you SO in that you're so active in fighting cancer. We TOO have the desire to see it wiped from the face of the earth. We support with monetary donations and what little awareness I can raise on Brent's caringbridge page and my blog. I just don't know if I could sit through something like that. You are DEFINITELY reflecting the image of your FATHER. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for putting your heart on the line and doing all that you can to end childhood cancer.
Now, about the post below... the pictures are just ADORABLE as always! I was sorry to hear that you guys are dealing with strep. Our Zach had it 3 times in a row back around Christmas. We PRAISE GOD that he FINALLY beat it! I don't know if they told you or not... but it's VERY IMPORTANT to throw away toothbrushes. Or at least BOIL it like crazy! By the third round of strep I made Zach get a new one DAILY! (They somehow forgot to mention that to us the first TWO times we went in the doctor's office) We'll join you in praying that nobody else will get it and that you'll all be the perfect picture of HEALTH!
Take care, my friend!
Love you,
Tonya
I am so excited about the show!! After going once I don't think I could ever miss another. It truly was magical last year. I sure hope that you will be there with that beautiful baby girl.
It is like a breath of fresh air to visit you! Your blog page is so beautiful and your family is amazing. I love what Tonya wrote about you in her comment. I also am blown away by your obvious love and passion to serve the Lord! I am very glad that I have gotten to meet you through blogging, it has blessed me!

Heather,
How I so wish that I lived closer to you. I would love to go to the Benefit. It looks like a ton of fun and at the same time you are truly humbled and know that you are doing something to help the PFC.
Love the pictures of the kids from the previous post. My how time gets away from us doesnt it? They grow up so fast. I keep saying this, but if Allie gets any cuter I dont think I will be able to stand it. She is such the little ham.
Hope you all had a GREAT weekend. Check out my blog for some Snowy Pictures.
